What is a “Maggots on Tour” Event?
The successful event is like a Horse Race Night but with a big difference.
I Race Live Maggots on a six-lane purpose-built track which is projected on a large 120” screen indoors or outside.
The Tote Booths open at 7.30pm (Evening Events) for betting on the first race at 8.00pm, but best to arrive early in order to get your favourite seats, although with a 120” screen viewing the screen is not a problem
The event consists of running a Tote Racing Format whereby customers can place as many £1 bets on any of the lanes of their choice in any of the race’s.
The Total Minimum outlay per person for a £1 bet on all races including purchasing a program for £1, including Sellers Plate, Total is £8 with a chance of winning £25 Lucky Number Program Voucher to spend behind the bar. You can bet as much or as little as you like from any of the booths.
The winners of the winning lane of each race will receive equal pay out per ticket held from all the betting booths in that race less 50% for the charity of the night.
When all the six races are finished, the six winning Maggots with be put up for auction, the total money raised from the auctions will go to the winning owner or syndicate less 50% to the charity. The last race is known as the Auction Winners (Sellers Plate)
What is the cost to book “Maggots on Tour”
If you were to hire a video recorded horse race event online the costs vary from £350 – £600 plus a session, depending on who you book, as they all vary in price.
In order for the charity to raise money, Printed Numbered Race Programs of all the runner’s names taking place are also sold to customers at £1 each per customer. Only customers with a programme can place a bet,
Our fee to the organiser of the venue for a “Maggots on Tour” event is £150 plus £1 for every Race Programme sold. So, if 50 Programmes sold £50 is charged pro-rata.
A draw for the Lucky Programme number will receive a £25 voucher sponsored by yourselves for the winner to spend behind the bar, bringing in £25 value of sales.
The costs are:
- £150 Hire Fee
- £25 Lucky Programme Voucher
- £1 for each Programme sold
The Charity Event is based on customer participation, and the great thing is that if advertised and promoted properly (say 6 weeks before advertised date), it not only gets the customers interested and get them through your front door, but they also stay to the end, putting money in your till.
It is a hilarious night or day event where everyone has a great laugh because the Maggots are so unpredictable on what they will do or don’t do, even turning around and going back to the starting line or decide to go on strike and not take part which makes the commentary is even more hilarious.
You can also use the event to promote your own fundraising activities. i.e. Raffle or Football Scratch Cards.
Or can go towards the costs for hiring the event.
